Good Friday Rescue: Snehalaya's Compassionate Mission in Mangalore
On the holy occasion of Good Friday, March 29, 2024, Brother Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, along with the trustee and secretary of Snehalaya, Mrs. Olivia Crasta, and the Snehalaya team, rescued five destitutes (three males and two females) from the streets in and around Mangalore. They were admitted to the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre in Manjeshwar.
Among the five individuals rescued, Ajay and Yamuna were rescued from Mangalore Junction Railway Station, Lalita from Mangalore Central Railway Station, Prashanth from Surathkal near Pabbas Ice Cream Parlour, and Pavan from the streets of Tokkattu, Mangalore.
All of them are suffering from mental illness and are currently receiving treatment at the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, both for men and women. Anyone with information about them can contact the following numbers: 7994087033, 9446547033.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 29.03.2024 ಶುಭ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಸಹೋದರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಒಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು ಅವರ ತಂಡ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವರಾಜ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಮೀಪದ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತಿದ್ದ ಐದು ಜನ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರನ್ನು(ಮೂವರು ಪುರುಷರು ಮತ್ತು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು) ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಜಯ್ ಮತ್ತು ಯಮುನಾ ಎಂಬವರನ್ನು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಜಂಕ್ಷನ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಿಂದ, ಲಲಿತಾ ಎಂಬವರನ್ನು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಿಂದ, ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ್ ಎಂಬವರನ್ನು ಸುರತ್ಕಲ್ ಪಬ್ಬಾಸ್ ಐಸ್ಕ್ರೀಮ್ ಪಾರ್ಲರ್ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಪವನ್ ಎಂಬವರನ್ನು ತೊಕ್ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
