MANNAH MID-DAY MEAL

St. Mother Teresa also known as 'Saint of the gutter' had once said, "If you cannot feed a hundred people then feed just one." Once it so happened that during Joseph's visits to the Wenlock Government Hospital, Mangalore, he happened to see a family from Shikaripura, a husband, a wife and three small children. The husband had fallen from a tree and was bedridden and the wife after receiving the food from the hospital divided it among the husband and their three small children thereby sacrificing her part for the welfare of her family.

After enquiring with the authorities, he found out that the hospital provides lunch and dinner only to the patients and not to their caretakers. Most of the patients admitted to Wenlock are poor and could not afford the food from the nearby restaurants. Joseph spent many a sleepless night pondering about the hapless patients and their attendants. One fine day that is on 14th August 2015 by the grace of God, he started a unique mission called 'Snehalaya Mannah' with the help of well-wishers. Presently around 700 mid-day meals are distributed every day at Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru.
